- Are you an Author, Reader, Publisher, Editor, Agent or Other?
- I am an Author newly published with Cerridwen Press. Prophecy of Vithan came out August 2 of 2006. My second novel Stone of Cruento is due to come out May 1, 2008. I am working on a third Vials of Aquilonia. I have been writing since I was old enough to hold a crayon, but never tried to get published. I am thrilled to be working with Cerridwen Press. I visit exotic worlds with my characters. I reach for the stars with them. I fight the good fight, defeat the bad guy and win the love of my life. I hope you enjoy reading my stories as much as I enjoy writing them.

- About Me:
- My name is Charlene Leatherman. I love stories about strong women. I find historical women like Catherine the Great, Queen Elizabeth and Deborah, Judge of Israel to be fascinating. In my stories, my women are strong. Strong-willed, physically and mentally strong. They are faced with problems that demand as much as they can give, and they give it. In my life, I have lived as a strong woman who does not give up no matter what is thrown my way. I fight to discover the solution to a problem and solve it.
I live in a tiny town called Desert Center in California. It was founded by gold miners in the early 1920’s. It is in the exact middle of two towns, fifty miles from each town. That is why it is called Desert Center. The population is about 150 people and swells to about 1000 during the winter with tourists. I am the caregiver for my quadriplegic husband of 35 years. I have two wonderful sons and two marvelous daughters-in-law. I have two grandbabies, one from each son. I love being a wife, a mom, a grandmother, and a writer.

- Maybe favorite authors would be easier to answer. I love anything by Issac Asimov, Stephen King, Nora Roberts, and a new author Lacey Thorn. Vampires by anyone, anything by Piers Anthony, and of course the classics - you know, the Illiad, the Odyssey, Charles Dickens, Edgar Allen Poe. I'm sort of an eclectic reader.

Book Signing Today at Frontier Days Marketplace
If any of you are near Arlington Heights, please stop by and say hi. I'll be autographing Two Wrongs and Girl of My Dreams Saturday and Sunday from 10-6 at Recreation Park in the Frontier Days Marketplace in Booth 124 at Frontier Days.I'm also handing out invitations for my book launch party for Killer Career for

Let the Fun Begin!
Fortunately, we were set free from work today at 3:00. Now I can catch up on a few things before heading over to the Festival tonight to see a rock band called ARRA at the Frontier Stage.We have some DVDs at home from the library. We may just be able to watch one or two before we go, since the band doesn't start until 9:15. Or, we may want to get pver there a bit early and eat desert, though we shouldn't.
Last night I had a hamburger at home, but at the Festival I could't resist a DQ Reese Peanut Butter Cup Blizzard. They've got pies, cheese cake, ice cream, brownies, and Blizzards. I wish I could eat them all,but I'm being bad enough! I have no willpower when it comes to good food.
What about you? Do you cave in and eat special treats at special events?

Dirty Little Angels
Set in the slums of New Orleans, among clusters of crack houses and abandoned buildings, Dirty Little Angels is the story of sixteen year old Hailey Trosclair. When the Trosclair family suffers a string of financial hardships and a miscarriage, Hailey finds herself looking to God to save her family. When her prayers go unanswered, Hailey puts her faith in Moses Watkins, a failed preacher and ex-con. Fascinated by Moses's lopsided view of religion, Hailey, and her brother Cyrus, begin spending time down at an abandoned bank that Moses plans to convert into a drive-through church. Gradually, though, Moses's twisted religious beliefs become increasingly more violent, and Hailey and Cyrus soon find themselves trapped in a world of danger and fear from which there may be no escape.
