Hi,

My name is Chris Tusa, and I'm a writer from New Orleans. I am writing because my debut novel, Dirty Little Angels, is now available, and I was hoping you might be willing to read it and post your comments on some of the book review sites like amazon.com. If you're interested, I'd be glad to send you an e-book version of the book. Just let me know. I've included a summary of the novel below:

Dirty Little Angels
Set in the slums of New Orleans, among clusters of crack houses and abandoned buildings, Dirty Little Angels is the story of sixteen year old Hailey Trosclair. When the Trosclair family suffers a string of financial hardships and a miscarriage, Hailey finds herself looking to God to save her family. When her prayers go unanswered, Hailey puts her faith in Moses Watkins, a failed preacher and ex-con. Fascinated by Moses's lopsided view of religion, Hailey, and her brother Cyrus, begin spending time down at an abandoned bank that Moses plans to convert into a drive-through church. Gradually, though, Moses's twisted religious beliefs become increasingly more violent, and Hailey and Cyrus soon find themselves trapped in a world of danger and fear from which there may be no escape.

If you'd like to read the first chapter before you commit, feel free to visit my web site:

Thanks so much,
Chris

I just attended the EPICON, the conference of ebook authors and publishers. the information was excellent, especially Penny C. Sansevieri's talks on internet marketing. She's done a book, "Red Hot Internet Publicity." If you're doing a conference, you might invite her.I attended because it was in Portland where I spend the winters. Otherwise I find attending conferences just too expensive. What I do has to be cost effective, that is, supported by the income from sales. (I should live so long!).

About Me:
I began writing stories as soon as I could read. As a child, I preferred reading to playing outside. I wrote poems and stories and was a “stringer” for a teen magazine when I was in high school. I was a journalism major in college.
Christine Abbott (Erny) and I bought the rights to Deadly Ink in 2005. Our first conference was in June 2006 and was great fun (and a lot of work!). We formed Deadly Ink Press in 2006, announcing it at the conference. Also new this year are our novel contest, David G. Sasher, Sr. Award and Ida Chittum Award and Awards Banquet.
I’m single and live in northwestern NJ with my cat, Rippy. I have three adult children, two grandchildren, four adult “step-children” and eight “step-grandchildren”.
I still love to write and currently have three works in progress. All mysteries, of course.

Behind the Scenes, June 1, 2007

I've added three authors two panels to our conference, so now need to juggle panelists, revise the website, revise the program, and send out postcards with the updates. I'm supposed to be taking a vacation day today, just running errands, getting the oil changed in my car, working in the yard. But so far, I'm still in the office and it's 10:00 am. With any luck, I'll be out of here soon. Maybe later I can even take a nap!

Memorial Day Thoughts

I grieve with all the families who have lost loved ones and at the same time, share in the pride and happiness of our memories. My Dad served in WWII in Europe. He never talked to me about the war. I never asked. I was 23 when Dad died, and busy with 3 toddlers. It wasn't until I was much older that I wished I had asked more questions, wished I knew more about the person my father was, the life he had lived.

This past year I lost my fiancee, Dave Sasher. Dave proudly served in the Navy

Behind the Scenes Update May 21,2007

Flyers are redone and sent out...finally. 1,000 flyers equals 1,000 folds, 1,000 labels, 2,000 stamps (39 cent plus a 2 cent), and 2,000 staples. All done by hand.

Our program is set for this year's conference. Everything has come together nicely.

I announced the David and Ida nominations today. The David is the David G. Sasher, Sr. Award for the Best Mystery Nov

Behind the Scenes at Deadly Ink

I had 1,000 flyers folded, stapled and set to go out when I found two mistakes in it. So I'm reprinting them now and tonight will be folding, stapling, addressing, stamping.....after I get home from a writers group meeting.

The conference is only 6 weeks away. I'm pleased with our lineup and program, but I'm late getting the flyers out. I hope we'll still have good attendance. We usually do.

Dave Sasher always did the folding and s

Time Out for Kindle Reading

Our local library has 8 kindles available for its patrons. The DH and I both got on the waiting list, mainly so I could use one. His number was reached and we picked up the kindle on Sunday afternoon. Now I've got a kindle to read for 2 weeks! So far I'm really loving it, especially the current book I'm reading, My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult.

What about you? Do you own a kindle? Or, have you tried someone else's? Would you like to?

Who's Doing Cyber Monday?

I'm very carefully going to check out the Cyber Monday deals. I have a few items in mind that I plan to buy, but it would be very nice if they'd go on sale and save me some money. I won't be spending much. Can't afford to do so this year.

What about you?

Did You Shop on Black Friday?

There's still time to take the poll to the left about what you ate at Thanksgiving.
About Black Friday -
The DH despises mob scenes, but my brother and I do love the adventure of shopping on Black Friday. We weren't courageous enough to get up at the crack of dawn, though, so we did miss out on a few goodies, like the snuglee blankets and pots and pans sets at Menards, and some other items. I did manage to get some work gloves at almost 50 cents each pair, and a boot/shoe dryer which sounded interesting and was less than $9.00. The biggest extravagance there was this turntable with MP3 encoding/AM FM radio combination thing, but that was only $49.00, which isn't too bad. I didn't go for any of the high ticket items.

I didn't do too bad, but do have some Staples rebates to send in. They're pretty easy to do online, so I don't mind doing them. I bought some USB flash drives, batteries, and CD rewrites there.

I also bought a reversible light grey, almost white bubble coat and some grey boots at Walmart, both items $7.00 each, which I plan to use walking Rascal.

What about you? Did you shop on Black Friday? If so, what kind of deals did you get?

So, this year I was pretty practical, but it was still fun and I did get a few things I hadn't expected to find.

What about you? Did you shop on Black Friday? If so, what kind of finds did you get?

Did you eat any of these foods at Thanksgiving dinner?

Since it's a busy time and an eating time, here's an easy poll to take in the left column. It's okay to pick multiple answers as long as they don't conflict. You can also leave a comment about a particularly favorite dish, if you wish.

Rascal is sleeping right now. When she gets up, you'll know about it.

When RASCAL wakes up, you'll hear from her and/or her Mom - that would be me, Morgan Mandel.
