Are you an Author, Reader, Publisher, Editor, Agent or Other?
If you have happened upon my page, blessings to you.

It is known from times past that any type of art, visual or written, is meant to lay forth a way for those who 'see' to continue.

If you find a labyrinth of wanderings within these works, then you have seen.

All is that has been is within the brightening path, the ever hope that follows the way. Ancestors move within me, bringing my soul always to that which was before, and to that which is ever after.

Bright Blessings

About Me:
Flicker Light Studio™ consists of Tom and Susan Repasky. Tom, The Wizard Of Awed™ and Susan, Queen Type O Negative™ have spent their lives expressing perspectives, feelings and opinions, artistically, musically and through writings. Both experienced extreme trauma during their childhoods, which opened doors to imaginative, spiritual, and surreal realms.

Tom began playing and composing music on his parents piano at age 14, began writing stories and poetry in the 60’s and began painting with acrylics and oils in the 70s. During the 80’s Tom’s job as an engineer in the computer industry provided him access to computers and 3d visualization of scientific data. By 1994 personal computers were beginning to capably support the mathematics necessary for 3d design and visualization (rendering). Because of his injuries from a childhood accident, using a paint brush became increasingly painful and so the computer became the brush, the media, and the medium. Tom’s first Digital Fine Art website was published in 1994. Since then it has continued to grow and expand. During the 90’s Repasky.com received many awards for art, design, presentation and navigation. By the time Tom and Susan met in 2002, the website had over 600 2d and 3d images and an average of 100 visitors daily.

Susan was raised in the Arizona/Sonoran desert. She spent much of her time observing nature and the world around her. She was able to translate much of what she saw into pencil sketches, which later were converted to watercolors. What most captivated her about the things she saw in the desert was how nature reclaimed itself. Susan was trained on the violin beginning when she was nine years old, but left that behind as an expression of art. She began writing poetry at a very early age, and has a large body of poetry and prose. When Susan met Tom, he introduced her to the world of digital art. She has since refined her skills using this medium of expression, and continues to win awards for her art.

Tom and Susan continue creating Digital Fine Art. New images are added frequently to their website or published on other Fine Art sites. Each image begins as an idea, sketch, or feeling. Each image has a story, a reason for it’s creation. Not every image gets published :-)

Tom and Susan’s body of computer art is well over 1500 images, most created in 3D applications, like TrueSpace, Extreme 3D, Bryce, Vue, World Builder, Poser, and others. Some models have been either purchased for our use, or used with permission from 3D sites such as Cornucopia3D, Planit3D, and others. Surreal and abstract, detailed and colorful, vibrant and intense, thought provoking, unique and striking are words that are found in reviews of their Digital Fine Art.

Their website has been critically reviewed by MOCA and selected as one of the most distinguished computer art sites on the web for 2006-2007. Visit us at tomandsusan.us. There is much more to come, so be sure to stay tuned!

Slides, Anyone?

I added a few slides of my books to my blogspot. I'm not sure yet if they should stay on or not.

Do you have more trouble loading my blogspot with the slides up? Do you like them or are they too distracting?

A Christmas Tree Already

On the way home from work yesterday, I passed a house that already had a lighted and decorated Christmas tree up and showing by the window.

Is it not too soon for that? In my mind, the day after Thanksgiving is when the Christmas Season starts. That's when it's fair game to put up a tree and decorations and start shopping. The way things are going this year, I'll be lucky if I get organized enough to decorate a few days before Christmas.

With our dog, Rascal, who lives up to her name, we'll probably go with a fiber optic small tree on top of an end table. One of these days I may pull put the larger tree from the box in the basement and set it up, but not until our doggy is a little more sedate. I don't feel like chasing her to get ornaments out of her mouth. I will be putting up knick knacks, lights inside and decorations on the walls, so it will still look Christmasy. No lights outside because for some reason we have no outlets outside.

While we're on the subject of Christmas trees and such, be sure to add holidays in your books. You can mention decorations and lights  or Easter eggs and baskets, or even mattress sales in your descriptions to ground the reader as to the season.
Now, back to that tree I saw. What about you? When do you decorate for Christmas? What do you put up?

Winners and Losers at the CMAs and Life

I love country music and almost every country performer. While watching the CMAs, I enjoyed seeing the winners accept their awards. On the other hand, it was hard for me to see the losers do their best to appear gracious and for the most part succeeding.

For every winner, there's a loser. In life and in books, it's the same way. How people react to their good and bad fortune shows what their characters are made of.  You don't have to tell a reader who the good guy or  bad guy is. Let their actions speak for themselves. The readers are smart enough to figure it out.

PS Can't finish this blog without saying - You Rock, Taylor Swift! You are one smart, talented teenager! Congrats on all your awards, especially, Entertainer of the Year!!!

CMA Awards Tonight and Twitter

One of my favorite shows is on tonight - the CMA Awards. If you're a country music fan, you're probably like me and will be glued to the TV 8pm EST, or in my case 7pm, in the flatlands of Illinois.

Almost all my favorite performers will be there, except I hear that Rascal Flatts can't make it.

I'll be on Twitter during the show also. That's part of the fun of it - discussing and dissecting outfits, performers, songs and even commercials, kind of like I'm at a giant party with people who all go for the same thing and want to share.

What about you? What kind of music do you like? Do you tweet during a favorite show or event?

Rascal is sleeping right now. When she gets up, you'll know about it.

When RASCAL wakes up, you'll hear from her and/or her Mom - that would be me, Morgan Mandel.
