Profile Information

Are you an Author, Reader, Publisher, Editor, Agent or Other?
I am an author. I have three books published. I am also a songwriter having a number of songs sung by different artist on the top 30's play list in Europe and other countries. I am also a published poet.
I live in South Carolina. Since my dear wife of 58 years died in May of this year I live alone. While you would think that I have time now to write more songs and books I haven't even tried since the passing of my wife Patricia Ann. I have hopes that my writing inspiration will return. Each time I write a new book I seek out a new publisher, many do a fine job of producing the books, however, do very little in promotion.
Do You Have A Website?
www.authorsden.com/johnhturner to see my books and read poems. also www.myspace.com/johnhturnjr here you can play several of my latest songs.
About Me:
I have four children ranging in age 43 to 55. 11 grandchildren and 2 great -grandchildren. I was a meat manager for a food chain for 16 years and then started building houses. I did this until retirment in 1992. I did not start writing until after I retired. At first I wrote songs and later tried my hand at writing novels. I do love writing books, it seems once you put the characters in place and set the plot the book takes over and writes its self..
Favorite Books:
I have a love of the classics. Howver, I do not read much. This is my greatest downfall as a writer, I'm sure.
Favorite Bookstores on land or cyberspace
Barnes & Nobles.
Amazon.com is a nice place to find most anything you happen to be looking for.
to hear more of my songs and read my poems and also see the video clip for my book "Before We Disappear" www.authorsden.com/johnhturner and www.myspace.com/johnhturnjr Thank you for listening. your friend, John

You are wonderful

Discouragement comes to all of us some time in our life, However, each person is a wonderful creation. As my song "Soar where the Eagles Fly" admonishes us, reach for the sky, and soar where the eagles fly. John

Having once lived in Nashville, I'm very familiar with songwriters and have always admired their talent so good for you!

To accomplish something worthwhile, takes hard work, dedication, and in most cases some talent, but the enjoyment afterwards makes it all worthwhile.

Hi John,
To say the least, I am impressed by your accomplishments, and wish you every success with the return of your inspiration. And I am sure this will occur with time. We all need time to grieve, as well as allowing ourselves to do so. A necesary part of the process which too will pass. Then on to the celebration of the joy we experienced, and can continue to experience, along with the wonderful memories, which I feel sure you have.

The first song "I Wonder What Might Have Been" is real. I was in love in my teens with a girl, she married some one else. I wrote this song about her. I had not seen her for 60 years, and when my wife died she called. I was surprised. She was offering her sympathy as she saw the obit in the paper. I gave her a copy of the song and she said, "John, you never saw me in any tight fitting jeans" However, she plays it all the time in her car. I'm sure her two daughter's have heard it by now.
