Hi,

My name is Chris Tusa, and I'm a writer from New Orleans. I am writing because my debut novel, Dirty Little Angels, is now available, and I was hoping you might be willing to read it and post your comments on some of the book review sites like amazon.com. If you're interested, I'd be glad to send you an e-book version of the book. Just let me know. I've included a summary of the novel below:

Dirty Little Angels
Set in the slums of New Orleans, among clusters of crack houses and abandoned buildings, Dirty Little Angels is the story of sixteen year old Hailey Trosclair. When the Trosclair family suffers a string of financial hardships and a miscarriage, Hailey finds herself looking to God to save her family. When her prayers go unanswered, Hailey puts her faith in Moses Watkins, a failed preacher and ex-con. Fascinated by Moses's lopsided view of religion, Hailey, and her brother Cyrus, begin spending time down at an abandoned bank that Moses plans to convert into a drive-through church. Gradually, though, Moses's twisted religious beliefs become increasingly more violent, and Hailey and Cyrus soon find themselves trapped in a world of danger and fear from which there may be no escape.

If you'd like to read the first chapter before you commit, feel free to visit my web site:

Thanks so much,
Chris

Namaste Elaine,

Thanks for the invite. Sorry, to hear about the medical... My book - A Brush with Death at http://freewebs.com/brush-with-death is all about a "medical" problem.... it is a true story about my wife and flesh eating bacteria.

If your heart and time will allow - I could use a little of that "help" you mentioned - just send me message and I'll get back to you.

May your path always be bright,
Joe

Are you an Author, Reader, Publisher, Editor, Agent or Other?
I am an avid book reader who reviews, edits, proofs and beta reads and whatever else anyone needs for help to get a story done. I will do anything I can to help those that need it although I am not an author myself nor do I really wish to be I prefer to play in the background and help others along the way and see them succeed and know I have had a helping hand in that. I will be glad to help anyone that comes and asks and it is something I can genuinely help others with. I do not get paid for any of my volunteer help but I do not do it for the money since I have none and that is ok. Acknowledgement is enough and a thank you for a job well done will work. Also I have been helped by many the last few years it is my way of paying it forward for others that need help especially in the literary field.

I have helped as a book reviewer, editor, proof reader and beta reader and just being a friend to correct any obvious typos before a work is submitted. Anything I can do in my power and expertise I will gladly do. Just come say hi and ask. I do not bite unless asked *smiles* Besides now that I am waylaid for the next 6 weeks or so now that I had my neck surgery on Thursday I am BORED so reading is helping with that.

Come see me at www.myspace.com/wolfhealers and add me as a friend if you like I always enjoy meeting new people and making a real friend.

About Me:
I am out on medical and JUST HAD NECK SURGERY on Thursday, November 29, 2007 and will now be in a dang neck brace and not be able to drive for about 6 weeks then it is on to a neck collar for another 6 weeks but then I can drive ... YEAH. I am hoping to get to Geneve, Switzerland in late January and see the very special man in my life and see what is up and go from there. So things have started happening in the midst of moving I got a call saying you are having surgery in less than 3 days YIKES, so I never completed the last of the packing and moving and the stuff is waiting me for when I can pick it up ... hopefully in January when I can finish the move and fully settle in back to the Santa Barbara area where I call come again.

HAD MY NECK SURGERY ON 11/29/07 YEAH

OK I finally got my needed neck surgery and even graduated from the darn neck brace I was in originally for 6 weeks to the neck collar which is good because Now I can drive again and do a bit more. Though that activity also ends up making my neck hurt worse at times because of the exercise of the muscles it has not gotten in a while.

Anyway it is getting better slowly but surely I hope and will see what the next month or so brings til my next doc visit.

Time Out for Kindle Reading

Our local library has 8 kindles available for its patrons. The DH and I both got on the waiting list, mainly so I could use one. His number was reached and we picked up the kindle on Sunday afternoon. Now I've got a kindle to read for 2 weeks! So far I'm really loving it, especially the current book I'm reading, My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult.

What about you? Do you own a kindle? Or, have you tried someone else's? Would you like to?

Who's Doing Cyber Monday?

I'm very carefully going to check out the Cyber Monday deals. I have a few items in mind that I plan to buy, but it would be very nice if they'd go on sale and save me some money. I won't be spending much. Can't afford to do so this year.

What about you?

Did You Shop on Black Friday?

There's still time to take the poll to the left about what you ate at Thanksgiving.
About Black Friday -
The DH despises mob scenes, but my brother and I do love the adventure of shopping on Black Friday. We weren't courageous enough to get up at the crack of dawn, though, so we did miss out on a few goodies, like the snuglee blankets and pots and pans sets at Menards, and some other items. I did manage to get some work gloves at almost 50 cents each pair, and a boot/shoe dryer which sounded interesting and was less than $9.00. The biggest extravagance there was this turntable with MP3 encoding/AM FM radio combination thing, but that was only $49.00, which isn't too bad. I didn't go for any of the high ticket items.

I didn't do too bad, but do have some Staples rebates to send in. They're pretty easy to do online, so I don't mind doing them. I bought some USB flash drives, batteries, and CD rewrites there.

I also bought a reversible light grey, almost white bubble coat and some grey boots at Walmart, both items $7.00 each, which I plan to use walking Rascal.

What about you? Did you shop on Black Friday? If so, what kind of deals did you get?

So, this year I was pretty practical, but it was still fun and I did get a few things I hadn't expected to find.

What about you? Did you shop on Black Friday? If so, what kind of finds did you get?

Did you eat any of these foods at Thanksgiving dinner?

Since it's a busy time and an eating time, here's an easy poll to take in the left column. It's okay to pick multiple answers as long as they don't conflict. You can also leave a comment about a particularly favorite dish, if you wish.

Rascal is sleeping right now. When she gets up, you'll know about it.

When RASCAL wakes up, you'll hear from her and/or her Mom - that would be me, Morgan Mandel.
