About Me:
I live in Texas, recently returned from Australia for several years. I've been writing for approximately 10 years and will be publishing this fall in an anthology published by L & L Dreamspell, titled A Death in Texas. My piece is titled Dark Pleasures. Another short is appearing in their erotica anthology, entitled, Siren's Call.

Recently, I entered the LASR annual contest for 2008. This was definitely a step to the side of my genre'...I'm a thriller gal...and so HEA endings and the focus being primarily on the two love interests is not my forte'. I was very pleased and flattered when I learned I had received an Honorary Mention in the contest, along with a couple of very complimentary reviews.

My sincere appreciation is extended to them for allowing my piece "through the Romance gates" :)...

The Pan Man will be available to view on the LASR site http://www.longandshortreviews.com/contest.htm as of August 7, 2008.

Hi, Loretta!
Thanks for telling me about BOOK PLACE--I love it here!
That's cool about your son's name (Deon) being so close to my husband's name (Dion), but I would bet you money that your son's name isn't pronounced "D-in" like my husband's is, right? He gets called all different kinds of weird things and he hates it when people mispronounce his name! I told him he should be thankful that his name isn't mispronounced as badly as mine is! Ever since I was a little girl, people have thought my name was "Clyde!" And no! I do not look at all like a Clyde!
I'll talk to you soon,
Cynde

You're welcome for the invite!:) It's good to have you here:) btw Carole Gill resides in Yorkshire now, but she's transferred there from Manhattan...you oughtta get a load of her myspace place. I told her it made me feel like dimming the lights and lighting a cigarette (and I don't even smoke!)
Love the gal you've placed in the pic on your J.Dee Robbins intro....or have I stuck my foot in my mouth again, and it's you?:)
As far as blogging...well...I kinda sorta do it...on Myspace....but I'm not that "gifted" with it yet...so everyone's always waiting to see what absurdity is going to fly out of my mouth next!:)

I'm new at this type of stuff, but thanks for the invitation! If I can figure out the blogging part, I might just become a blogger! Anything to avoid facing that blank page... :D

Well, the anthology that has my short story Dark Pleasures in it, is due out in September. I've also had another short taken for another anthology by L & L Dreamspell.
Right now, I'm nose down editing The Midnight Dance...I will be soooo glad when this one is finished and flung....it's been a long haul:)

:) Thanks for the compliment Bruce...it was something I kind of just "put" on it for want of a title in the moment....and it's going on to novel size (this was the prequel) and I may change the title to something that feels more "right" to me then:) But, as I said, thank you:) never know, the title may have found a home:)

MORGAN'S OWN BLOGSPOT

Come on Over

I'm over at a few other blogs today. If you get a chance, come on over to see the Christmas Decorations at http://acmeauthorslink.blogspot.com/

At http://bloodredpencil.blogspot.com/  the topic is Spoiled Milk. Ever sit down to read a good book and been disappointed?

If you haven't yet, check out the post below about the Paper War.

Thanks,
Morgan Mandel

Paper War

I've been waging a war on paper the last few days. So far, paper is winning. The more I clean up, the more of it I find. The problem is, for much of it, I feel an obligation to do a thorough examination and decide whether or not it's worth keeping.

The mailperson is my enemy. He, sometimes she, keeps leaving more paper in my mail box. I'm not talking about my Christmas cards, which I cherish, but all the other stuff dropped off for me to sort out. At times it's torture to come home and see the new pile the DH has set on the kitchen table.

I've discovered tons of magazines over a year old. They were trying to hide in a magazine holder on the side of the couch, but not doing a good job of it, since they were spilling over. Of course, I decided to check the headings on the covers to see if some of the information inside might prove valuable. Wouldn't you know it, I was right. Many articles seemed to good to give up.

I've already mentioned here before about how I also have a compulsion to print out emails that seem important to me. The result is I have lots of important pieces of paper. When there's an abundance, which is the most important? And, where's the one I really need? It is a quandary.

What about you? Is paper your enemy? Are you also waging a war against it? Who is winning?
