Hi all,
Take a trip down memory lane. My latest novel "Cardinal Sin" has just been released at The Wild Rose Press.
Remember the 1960's - manual typewriters, sour old spinsters in charge of a typing pools, mini-skirts and the war in Vietnam.
Ah nostalgia.

Wow Merlene,
Small world. I live near Puckle Street and one of my casual jobs is in Ascot Vale Road.
Glad you like my website. A story about a bee and a flower probaly constitutes romance, well the birds and the bees do, don't they.
I am a member of the Romance Writers of Australia, and The Melbourne Romance Writers Guild. The MRWG is a friendly little group that meets once a month in Fitzroy.

Best wishes
Margaret

Hello Margaret,

I come from the outer west. I lived in Maribyrnong RD in another life and worked in Ascot Vale Rd even further back. I've had a look at your website and I'm impressed. I don't think we have met - I've just got one of those faces. I admire writers who write romance as it's not my genre at all, although I did write a short story about a bee and a flower once - does that count? Do you belong to any writing groups, associations etc?

Best Wishes

Hi Margaret, That's an impressive list of publications you have.

Hi Margaret

Yes, those tour guides usually carry a bright brolly so they can be seen in a crowd by anyone who gets seperated from the group. They probably feel daft doing so but it's effective. There is also a great 'ghost walk' tour in York which is worth trying if you ever get to that city.

Look forward to hearing from you again soon.

Best regards

Brian

Thanks for your kind words about my books and covers. I try to keep busy.

Hey Margaret,

You were in good company on the Ripper tour. did you know that the first thing Tess Gerritsen did when she came to London, was to take the tour? She was so gracious in encouraging me and wishing me luck with 'A Study in Red' and in allowing me to use her good luck mesage on the front cover of the book.

Anyway you're still a gorgeous lady, and I appreciate once again the lovely things you say about me. I hope I'm worthy of such praise.

My warmest and best regards

Brian

HI Margaret,

Thanks for your blog comment. I'm glad you enjoyed the article, and especially so if it's sparked your interest in the Jack the Ripper case. Yes, being a member of The Whitechapel Society does open some great doors for research purposes, and adds a certain something to any Ripperologist's literary credentials I suppose.

Now why did you have to tell everyone that that isn't you in the low cut dress? I'm sure you've shatterred many an illusion there. Regardless of that, you are indeed a lovely and very gracious lady, and once again I thank you for your kind words, and your regular support of my cover designs in the awards.

Best regards

Brian

Time Out for Kindle Reading

Our local library has 8 kindles available for its patrons. The DH and I both got on the waiting list, mainly so I could use one. His number was reached and we picked up the kindle on Sunday afternoon. Now I've got a kindle to read for 2 weeks! So far I'm really loving it, especially the current book I'm reading, My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult.

What about you? Do you own a kindle? Or, have you tried someone else's? Would you like to?

Who's Doing Cyber Monday?

I'm very carefully going to check out the Cyber Monday deals. I have a few items in mind that I plan to buy, but it would be very nice if they'd go on sale and save me some money. I won't be spending much. Can't afford to do so this year.

What about you?

Did You Shop on Black Friday?

There's still time to take the poll to the left about what you ate at Thanksgiving.
About Black Friday -
The DH despises mob scenes, but my brother and I do love the adventure of shopping on Black Friday. We weren't courageous enough to get up at the crack of dawn, though, so we did miss out on a few goodies, like the snuglee blankets and pots and pans sets at Menards, and some other items. I did manage to get some work gloves at almost 50 cents each pair, and a boot/shoe dryer which sounded interesting and was less than $9.00. The biggest extravagance there was this turntable with MP3 encoding/AM FM radio combination thing, but that was only $49.00, which isn't too bad. I didn't go for any of the high ticket items.

I didn't do too bad, but do have some Staples rebates to send in. They're pretty easy to do online, so I don't mind doing them. I bought some USB flash drives, batteries, and CD rewrites there.

I also bought a reversible light grey, almost white bubble coat and some grey boots at Walmart, both items $7.00 each, which I plan to use walking Rascal.

What about you? Did you shop on Black Friday? If so, what kind of deals did you get?

So, this year I was pretty practical, but it was still fun and I did get a few things I hadn't expected to find.

What about you? Did you shop on Black Friday? If so, what kind of finds did you get?

Rascal is sleeping right now. When she gets up, you'll know about it.

When RASCAL wakes up, you'll hear from her and/or her Mom - that would be me, Morgan Mandel.
