- About Me:
- I was born in the small Brazilian city of New Era, near Itabira of Carlos Drummond de Andrade. I always wanted one days climbing the mountains to see the poet (after all, our cities were coming), but, as he had warned well before "had a rock in the middle of the road." Some years later, the poet traveled and never reappeared. I write stories, chronicles, reviews and poetry to some sites specializing in literature. I have 4 books of poetry published, all out of circulation.

donde depositan mi cuerpo doliente!

Quiero levantarme, pero estoy cansado...
¿Que rumor es ese en el cuarto al lado?
Hay un jardín cerca: siento aroma a flores.

Estoy tan cansado pero sin dolores.

Misérrima
vida
de favela
que viví.
Desvalida
vida ávida
desprovista,
vida sin brío,
bajo puentes,
sobre ríos.
La vi vil,
hostil,
dividida.
Quisiera verla
a la luz de velas,
vajillas...

Apenas fina capa mohosa te protege
de la podredumbre. Gusanos hambrientos te rodean.
¿Ignoras que en un pase mágico, en un segundo apenas
cae por tierra toda la altivez y el bello
papel de regalo revela la fétida masa?
El gusto amargo de la hiel, la visión incierta,
el torcerse de las piernas, el descontrol total...
todo es inevitable!
Cualquier día serás presa fácil:
el tiempo es impiedoso.
El trágico fin no depende de tu voluntad.

EL PRINCIPIO DEL FIN
Hoy me librarse de todas mis otras cosas:
objetos, fotos, pequeños recuerdos ...
No me sirven más.
¿Qué me valeriam estas cosas, si he perdido hoy
el mi más valioso bien, físico y espiritual?
Doy las gracias a mis chicos que son la mi herencia reconfortante.
Y nada más me interesa ...
Quiero menos recuerdos que me llevan al pasado,
menos mal.
Hoy es el primero de los últimos días de mi vida.

Paper War
I've been waging a war on paper the last few days. So far, paper is winning. The more I clean up, the more of it I find. The problem is, for much of it, I feel an obligation to do a thorough examination and decide whether or not it's worth keeping.The mailperson is my enemy. He, sometimes she, keeps leaving more paper in my mail box. I'm not talking about my Christmas cards, which I cherish, but all the other stuff dropped off for me to sort out. At times it's torture to come home and see the new pile the DH has set on the kitchen table.
I've discovered tons of magazines over a year old. They were trying to hide in a magazine holder on the side of the couch, but not doing a good job of it, since they were spilling over. Of course, I decided to check the headings on the covers to see if some of the information inside might prove valuable. Wouldn't you know it, I was right. Many articles seemed to good to give up.
I've already mentioned here before about how I also have a compulsion to print out emails that seem important to me. The result is I have lots of important pieces of paper. When there's an abundance, which is the most important? And, where's the one I really need? It is a quandary.
What about you? Is paper your enemy? Are you also waging a war against it? Who is winning?
