Are you an Author, Reader, Publisher, Editor, Agent or Other?
Playwright, Puppeteer, Instructor at Habanero City Academy of Puppet Science
Do You Have A Website?
No. Typewriters are fairly limited.
About Me:
Hobbies: Two or three times a year, I fly to Tierra del Fuego and dynamite fish in the Strait of Magellan. For about six dollars, you can hire a couple of whores to bite off their heads and cook 'em up.

I'm a retired crop duster. In the early seventies, I found it necessary to leave the U.S. for tax purposes. The government alleged I'd never paid any. That colossal oversight forced me to begin a new life south of the border using the name "Snooks Ramone" and living on cash I'd buried in the backyard. Later, I returned to Texas, settled my score with Uncle Sam, and read lots of books while incarcerated for five years. Now, I'm deeply involved in writing. Most recently, I completed a thirteen act stageplay called "Pull My Finger, Heinrich", a look at the mischievous side of Adolph Hitler.
Favorite Books:
ATLANTA NIGHTS - Travis Tea
BLOOD MERIDIAN - Cormac McCarthy
A PRAYER FOR OWEN MEANY - John Irving
NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN - Cormac McCarthy
AMPHIGOREY - Edward Gorey
Recently:
THE ENGLISH MAJOR - JIM HARRISON
THE WHITE TIGER - ARAVIND ADIGA
FLANNERY - BRAD GOOCH (great bio. of Flannery O'Connor)
Favorite Bookstores on land or cyberspace
Booked Up in Archer City, TX. It's actually four big stores scattered around the tiny town's square. Quality, hard to find books at somewhat reasonable prices.

Three Dog Books is in Archer City also. Nice folks, nice selection.
(Archer City is just south of Wichita Falls, TX, which is two hours from everywhere.)

Forgive This Full Frontal Nudity

If you are offended by this photo of me running naked with an ax in the tide, I wish to apologize. At the time the police snapped it I honestly thought I was on a nude beach. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the oceanfront view for the Sisters Of St. Vidas Convent. The ax was for chopping driftwood. No fair zooming in on the good stuff!

A.M.

If you've done the Riverwalk in San Antonio, AGUA MIERDA is a must. The Trinity River rushes through Dallas, Texas and on to Caracas, Venezuela at two thousand feet per minute and most people don't know it's only thirty-two feet shorter than the Amazon River.

AGUA MIERDA is a casual after dark meeting of friends located on the banks of the Trinity River in scenic West Dallas. And talk about laid back. Here I sit with my feet on an Igloo cooler, counting bodies floating by with a spotli… Continue

Adding rattlesnakes - I'll have to keep that in mind. Never thought about the species - unless you mean the human ones. I always throw in one or two of those for fun.

You are sooo funny. Thank you for making me laugh this morning. I read your skit with the IRS, and I wanted to come over so you can show me where your money is buried in your backyard. I have often thought to bury mine there, however, the neighbor has this stupid German Shepard...he is always sniffing around!

I buried my money in the desert, near the Mandalay Bay Hotel, behind the Starbucks. This way, I can always find it, and whenever I plan to escape I always have to get a cup of java first, and then I'll have a few bucks to see a great Vegas show. No one would ever suspect anything unusual since I'm always there, and it is in line with Poe's logic who says the best place to hide a valuable is in plain sight ("The Purloined Letter").
Thank you for being my friend.

Thanks Snooks. You have an interesting bio. Kept me laughing. Your comment is much appreciated. I have sent it off to a short story contest. Should know something about it at the end of September. My book, The Sayonara Heart, (still not sure if I want to go the trilogy route or not), is coming along fine. I keep doing a little bet on it each day. Right now I have 41 chapters written but am busy rewriting and editing. Have completed 25 so far. But thanks again Snooks.

MORGAN'S OWN BLOGSPOT

Helpless

Over the Holiday weekend I took a good look at my house and that familiar helples feeling washed over me again. It seemed like an insurmountable task to get the place in order. It still does.

I spend so much time writing and promoting after I do my day job, what little time I have left is precious. Still, sometimes I just have to buckle down and ignore my compulsion to write and make myself clean house instead. I tackled the spare bedroom, which had clothes and all kinds of other articles strewn over the bed, on the floor, and anywhere you can think of, compliments of myself and the DH, who were equally guilty.  I did make some headway, which made me feel good, but if I had more time I know I could do better. Also, there are so many other projects left to do if I were to get the house really into shape. I'm wondering how much I'll get done before Christmas, when I have my family over.

Maybe over the weekend I can get more done, that is, after I do the Illinois sales tax form first, which is due by the end of the month. I've got almost all of my check statements, except one, which I think I can find online, so maybe I can get that done. You may have guessed I'm not the most organized person in the world.

Anyway, let's see how far I can get cleaning up. I've got this kindle on loan from the library, with about 9 days left on it, and lots of good books on it beckoning to me. I've got some great ideas for stories I want to start and others I want to continue. I've got some blog buddies I haven't visited for a while. I wonder what will win out. (g)

What about you? What do you do about housework? Does it get in the way sometimes?

PS The not so surprising results are up on the left for my EZ poll. I'll have to do a harder one some time.

New Killer Career Excerpt at Acme Authors Link

Hi Gang,
Today, I've got a new Killer Career excerpt up at http://acmeauthorslink.blogspot.com/ . This one continues from the first excerpt I posted on Monday at http://makeminemystery.blogspot.com/

If you're curious about my recently released romantic suspense, come on over to one or both blogs to check it out.

Thanks,
Morgan

Time Out for Kindle Reading

Our local library has 8 kindles available for its patrons. The DH and I both got on the waiting list, mainly so I could use one. His number was reached and we picked up the kindle on Sunday afternoon. Now I've got a kindle to read for 2 weeks! So far I'm really loving it, especially the current book I'm reading, My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult.

What about you? Do you own a kindle? Or, have you tried someone else's? Would you like to?

Who's Doing Cyber Monday?

I'm very carefully going to check out the Cyber Monday deals. I have a few items in mind that I plan to buy, but it would be very nice if they'd go on sale and save me some money. I won't be spending much. Can't afford to do so this year.

What about you?
