About Me:
I, in my former life, was a registered nurse who met and married a handsome medical student. Three children and 3 grandchildren later, I find myself in a position to read and review as many books as I wish to read, and I love being able to review so many wonderful stories by some fabulous new authors, and authors who have been established for a while whose books I am lucky enough to be able to request first :>)
Favorite Books:
Duality by Renee Wildes , and 100's of books recently written by new authors that I have discovered through my review sites. Recent reviews written for these exceptional stories: About a Dragon by G.A. Aiken, Every book written by C.L. Wilson which are: Lord of the Fading Lands, Lady of Light and Shadows, and King of Sword and Sky.
Pushing up Daisies by Rosemary Harris, Waterlilies over my Grave by Rosemary Harris, Down Home Ever Lovin' Mule Blues; Second chance Pass by Robyn Carr, and tomorrow I will start reading Hedda's Sword by the fabulous Renee Wildes! I cannot wait to read this new adventure by this talented new author...I have over 200 books in my "Keeper Bookshelf", and the count continues to rise, and rise, and -- - -rise.....
Favorite Bookstores on land or cyberspace
Readmore is all that we have locally, but I am happy to have this bookstore in our small town, and everyone who works there is really sweet and will order all of my books that I want and I pay when I pick them up!(Well, when hubby picks them up on his way home from work;>)

Early Endorsements for “A Circle of Souls”
Linda Fairstein, NYT Bestselling Author: "A fascinating debut - this novel takes the reader to the darkest places in the human soul, from a writer with the authenticity to lead us there. A stunning thriller and an important read."

Judge Judy Sheindlin, star of the Judge Judy Show: "The seminal work of this fine author kept me glued to my chair until the adventure was over and the mystery solved. A great read!"

Book Synopsis:
The sleepy town of Newbury, Connecticut, is shocked when a little girl is found brutally murdered. The town s top detective, perplexed by a complete lack of leads, calls in FBI agent Leia Bines, an expert in cases involving children.

Meanwhile, Dr. Peter Gram, a psychiatrist at Newbury s hospital, searches desperately for the cause of seven-year-old Naya Hastings devastating nightmares. Afraid that she might hurt herself in the midst of a torturous episode, Naya s parents have turned to the bright young doctor as their only hope.

The situations confronting Leia and Peter converge when Naya begins drawing chilling images of murder after being bombarded by the disturbing images in her dreams. Amazingly, her sketches are the only clues to the crime that has panicked Newbury residents. Against her better judgment, Leia explores the clues in Naya s crude drawings, only to set off an alarming chain of events.
In this stunning psychological thriller, innocence gives way to evil, and trust lies forgotten in a web of deceit, fear, and murder.

Hi,

My name is Chris Tusa, and I'm a writer from New Orleans. I am writing because my debut novel, Dirty Little Angels, is now available, and I was hoping you might be willing to read it and post your comments on some of the book review sites like amazon.com. If you're interested, I'd be glad to send you an e-book version of the book. Just let me know. I've included a summary of the novel below:

Dirty Little Angels
Set in the slums of New Orleans, among clusters of crack houses and abandoned buildings, Dirty Little Angels is the story of sixteen year old Hailey Trosclair. When the Trosclair family suffers a string of financial hardships and a miscarriage, Hailey finds herself looking to God to save her family. When her prayers go unanswered, Hailey puts her faith in Moses Watkins, a failed preacher and ex-con. Fascinated by Moses's lopsided view of religion, Hailey, and her brother Cyrus, begin spending time down at an abandoned bank that Moses plans to convert into a drive-through church. Gradually, though, Moses's twisted religious beliefs become increasingly more violent, and Hailey and Cyrus soon find themselves trapped in a world of danger and fear from which there may be no escape.

If you'd like to read the first chapter before you commit, feel free to visit my web site:

Suzie, thanks for mentioning my book "Waterlilies Over My Grave" but it was written by Patricia A. Guthrie (me) not by Rosemary Harris. I'd appreciate it if you would make that correction. :-)

I'm so glad you liked the book. It's one of those stories that keeps you up at night trying to decide how to get your characters in and out of trouble. (LOL)

Hi Linda! Welcome! Wow, I've never heard or Readmore - what a cool name! My son Joshua was surprised about the whole ordering books thing. We were in B&N yesterday for a bit and they didn't have the only Bionicle book he also doesn't have yet. I used to work there, and when my friend Diane told him she could order one for him, his eyes got real big and he asked "You mean I just ask and you get it for me? Like ketchup?" Without missing a beat Diane replied, "Yeah, but only if you ask nice."
Welcome again!

If you haven't yet, check out the post below about the Paper War.

Thanks,

Paper War

I've been waging a war on paper the last few days. So far, paper is winning. The more I clean up, the more of it I find. The problem is, for much of it, I feel an obligation to do a thorough examination and decide whether or not it's worth keeping.

The mailperson is my enemy. He, sometimes she, keeps leaving more paper in my mail box. I'm not talking about my Christmas cards, which I cherish, but all the other stuff dropped off for me to sort out. At times it's torture to come home and see the new pile the DH has set on the kitchen table.

I've discovered tons of magazines over a year old. They were trying to hide in a magazine holder on the side of the couch, but not doing a good job of it, since they were spilling over. Of course, I decided to check the headings on the covers to see if some of the information inside might prove valuable. Wouldn't you know it, I was right. Many articles seemed to good to give up.

I've already mentioned here before about how I also have a compulsion to print out emails that seem important to me. The result is I have lots of important pieces of paper. When there's an abundance, which is the most important? And, where's the one I really need? It is a quandary.

What about you? Is paper your enemy? Are you also waging a war against it? Who is winning?
