I just love it. It's gloriously old-fashioned, unashamedly unchanged. It's possibly the only bookshop on the planet where each customer looks like they've stepped out of the pages of an Agatha Christie novel (not because they look like criminals, though). Fantastic.

This week I did something I rarely do: I gave up on a book.
The title in question was Cecilia Dart-Thornton's The Lady Of Sorrows, the second book of her Bitterbynde Trilogy. I'd speedily gotten through the first book (The Ill-Made Mute) and, obviously, enjoyed it enough to buy its sequel. I even had plans to buy the third book.

I don't usually write blog entries on my webpages - I'm not convinced people will be interested by my random utterings - but after just writing a comment on somebody else's webpage, I finally feel motivated to have a kvetch.
