New Book Trailer

I'm so thrilled with the book trailer for my paranormal mystery, INVISIBLE SHIELD. I hope everyone has a chance to check it out. (It's only 30 secs).
So far the comments have been great.
Let me know what you think!

Borders signing success!

Thanks to everyone who came out to the signing on Saturday the
14th. It was my goal to sell 5 books, but Invisible Shield sold
out of the Borders' stock and then I sold 3 of the books I'd brought
from home. Then they put 3 on the shelf. Let's hope they
sell too! It was great to spend time with other 5 Star authors,
Julie Hyzy, Mike Black, Tom Case and Tom Keevers, who signed copies of
their releases. Afterward, we went out to dinner to
celebrate.

Woohoo!

Okay, so I'm online checking for ME. And I find
Invisible Shield has been submitted for an Edgar nomination!
You'd think I'd already won the thing the way I woohood and woke up the
dog and everything. But really. Think about it. Just
to be submitted, and to know that I wasn't the one to do it means a whole helluva lot!

So I have an official mystery in my life now. Who submitted?

I owe them a drink just for the thought.

Didn't get much writing done on the new suspense I'm w… Continue

Late start

I've been meaning to add a blog but since the release of Invisible
Shield, I've been trying to get the word out. I have a signing
coming up at Bordrs in July with 4 other 5 Star authors. Very
excited about that. Also, I'll be signing books this weekend at
Printer's Row in Chicago. Look for me at the Twililght Tales tent
on Sunday from 12-4. I'll be the one with the tall drink in one
hand and a pen in the other.

September 15 brings a day at the Putnam County Library for the book festival for… Continue

Hi Scarlett, Thanks for being my friend. I have been on other networks and trying to change my email address. I lost it for awhile. Fairpoint took over Verizon. Did you Know that my latest book The Adventures of Little Buddy and Grizz is at the publishers? Nice to hear from you. Doug

Hi Scarlett,
It was great to see you also at Authorfest.
I do like the way the Iphone takes photos. Maybe they do have a secret to make people look good. Most of my photos turn out okay on there.

Hi, Scarlett,

Yes, we have relatives who live in your neck of the woods. My husband has a huge family tree on his computer. Give me a name and we'll find out.

Thanks,
Elaine

Come on Over

I'm over at a few other blogs today. If you get a chance, come on over to see the Christmas Decorations at http://acmeauthorslink.blogspot.com/

At http://bloodredpencil.blogspot.com/  the topic is Spoiled Milk. Ever sit down to read a good book and been disappointed?

If you haven't yet, check out the post below about the Paper War.

Thanks,
Morgan Mandel

Paper War

I've been waging a war on paper the last few days. So far, paper is winning. The more I clean up, the more of it I find. The problem is, for much of it, I feel an obligation to do a thorough examination and decide whether or not it's worth keeping.

The mailperson is my enemy. He, sometimes she, keeps leaving more paper in my mail box. I'm not talking about my Christmas cards, which I cherish, but all the other stuff dropped off for me to sort out. At times it's torture to come home and see the new pile the DH has set on the kitchen table.

I've discovered tons of magazines over a year old. They were trying to hide in a magazine holder on the side of the couch, but not doing a good job of it, since they were spilling over. Of course, I decided to check the headings on the covers to see if some of the information inside might prove valuable. Wouldn't you know it, I was right. Many articles seemed to good to give up.

I've already mentioned here before about how I also have a compulsion to print out emails that seem important to me. The result is I have lots of important pieces of paper. When there's an abundance, which is the most important? And, where's the one I really need? It is a quandary.

What about you? Is paper your enemy? Are you also waging a war against it? Who is winning?
