Hi Jay
Congratulations on the second edition of The Dandelion Clock. Hope it continues to sell well!

Hi, John (or whoever I'm sending this to). I hear you've been having floods in Texas, too. Are you OK? We're not far from Wimbledon, so that'll give you some idea of the weather if you watch the tennis. If you didn't know I was British, you do now!

I recently finished a rewrite - a major one. I've just finished plotting out the revisions for my witch book. Fortunately they will not be as extensive as the last set. Even when I finish a project these days I seem to be unable to relax for more than a day before I start another one. I've gotten into the mode and don't want to waste time. I'll be hitting the revisions hard in mid-July. In the meantime, I'll just do more planning and finish up a few other projects I have in the pipeline. Good luck on your revisions, and getting rid of those extra words.

Thanks, Liz. You'll find excerpts at http://www.bewrite.net/bookshop/excerpts.htm

If you click on 'All About Sex', there's a video clip, too (don't worry - it's romantic rather than raunchy).

Hi Jay,

Yup, believe it or not, we're here. In your view of your page, you should be able to scroll down and see a link that says something like, "Add a post" or "New Post."

When you have announcements, post them there. That way, they will show up on your page as well as the main page.

Hi Jay
Yes, there are some people out here!
Well done on getting the image up. Now for adding the rest of your covers to your photos?

That was a typo. Still, maybe an alien is reading this, you never know.

OK, I admit it, I'm useless. I've no idea if I'm talking to you lot out there or to myself. I've now added a photo - it's of one of my novels - and I've put some text somewhere, but I can't find it unless I look at my profile. Can you read my Ning Id? If you can, I'm sorry. I originally chose another word, but it had already been used, so I picked a word beginning with the next letter in the alphabet. I'd have been more careful/creative if I knew it was going to be seen. My first action was to try to change it, but it seemed to be the one thing I couldn't change. On the basis that something other than me is going to be reading this, I've just sent off a 100 flash fiction pieces for a collection. My publishers have now stopped accepting short stories, so I'll be lucky if they accept these. Oh, well. What's the weather like where you are? It's dull here. Warmish, but dull. Miserable, but not raining. You can tell I'm English, can't you? Is anyone out there?

Come on Over

I'm over at a few other blogs today. If you get a chance, come on over to see the Christmas Decorations at http://acmeauthorslink.blogspot.com/

At http://bloodredpencil.blogspot.com/  the topic is Spoiled Milk. Ever sit down to read a good book and been disappointed?

If you haven't yet, check out the post below about the Paper War.

Thanks,
Morgan Mandel

Paper War

I've been waging a war on paper the last few days. So far, paper is winning. The more I clean up, the more of it I find. The problem is, for much of it, I feel an obligation to do a thorough examination and decide whether or not it's worth keeping.

The mailperson is my enemy. He, sometimes she, keeps leaving more paper in my mail box. I'm not talking about my Christmas cards, which I cherish, but all the other stuff dropped off for me to sort out. At times it's torture to come home and see the new pile the DH has set on the kitchen table.

I've discovered tons of magazines over a year old. They were trying to hide in a magazine holder on the side of the couch, but not doing a good job of it, since they were spilling over. Of course, I decided to check the headings on the covers to see if some of the information inside might prove valuable. Wouldn't you know it, I was right. Many articles seemed to good to give up.

I've already mentioned here before about how I also have a compulsion to print out emails that seem important to me. The result is I have lots of important pieces of paper. When there's an abundance, which is the most important? And, where's the one I really need? It is a quandary.

What about you? Is paper your enemy? Are you also waging a war against it? Who is winning?
