About Me:
A long-time reader, I'm also the author of two mysteries: Shaded Light and its new sequel, Glitter of Diamonds. Both are written in the classic British style, but with a modern twist. Set in Toronto, they feature the duo of Paul Manziuk, a seasoned career officer and his new partner, Jacqueline Ryan, a young black woman with an MA in criminology and an attitude. I'm also the author of five novels for ages 11+ that guys will read as well as girls. I'm a member of Mystery Writers of America, Sisters in Crime, Crime Writers of Canada, the Writers Union of Canada, and The Word Guild. I also do a lot of speaking and I teach writing.

October Seems to Be My Month for Interviews

Of course, it may have something to do with my
having the trade paperback edition of Glitter of Diamonds out this
month. :)

I'm the featured author for Mystery Lovers' Corner. You can enter a contest there to win signed copies of both Glitter of Diamonds and Shaded Light.

And there's an interview just up at the NoName Cafe, which is on

Malice Domestic, Bookstore Tour, and a Great Review!

Enjoyed being at Malice Domestic. The malice-go-round and new author
breakfasts are great ways to learn about new authors and new books. Got
a few ideas from the poison lady. Watched some good panels. Charles
Benoit was terrific! Participated in a panel and met some new people
as a result - plus one adorable dog named Puff. And bought quite a few
books!

Also met some fascinating book-lovers at Malice and at
a gathering last night in Fairfield, CT. I especially enjoy talking to
people w… Continue

Hi and Welcome

I'm delighted to be on a forum devoted to books. Books have been my very best friends since - well, since my parents started reading them to me, and that was a long time ago. We didn't have very many, and I actually learned to read by memorizing the words in the little Golden books my parents read to me. Eventually, I put two and two together and realized that the words had meaning outside of those books, and I began reading everything I could get my hands on.

And now my second mystery… Continue

Just wanted to stop by and say hello. If you get a free moment, stop by my page here at Book Place, or at WRDF.

I keep hot, buttery-sweet cinnamon rolls on the cyber-table at all times—go ahead, grab two.

Have a great day and a successful year,
Lynda

Hi, Nancy,

Thanks for the invitation. Just finished reading a Robert Ludlum novel, The Ambler (Can't think of last word), while on a vacation. The book was a luddite--in terms of number of pages, some 600+!! Did do some skimming just to finish the thing. Ludlum has interesting insights into human nature and psychotropic drugs and on how the brain operates--\of course, that's along with some very esoteric stuff that was good. However, the latter kinds of reading, made me feel as if I needed to be more academic, sitting upright and alert in a classroom and not wearing a bathing suit, reclining in a lounge chair on a Caribbean beach.

Cheers,

Pat
