About Me:
I've been writing since the early 70s. I've been writing with the goal of publication since '78 but until last year my aim was on short fiction. When I finished I Remember Tomorrow in 2006, it was my first attempt at novel lenght fiction. I'm happy to see it in print and hope it continues to do well.

I was raised in Los Angeles, spent 15 years in the law enforcement field (equally between military and civilian), another nine years with the Texas Attorney General, then began full-time work in Information Technology in 1999 where I remain.

THE TWO HELENS

Nightrun Trailer: The Elder Helen

Nightrun Trailer: The Other Helen

These are two of the "Women of Nightrun" trailers for my upcoming Nightrun series. The elder Helen may actually be my favorite character in the series. She's bright and funny but can turn dark and dangerous in the blink of an eye. The other Helen, called "Two", while possesing many of the same traits as her name sake, tends to be angrier and more driven. Seperately, they are formidable. However, when they finally combine their talents... things heat up. Be well, William

William, I checked out AuthorsDen. What an interesting life you've led. I, too, raised 5 children, all boys. Ralph & I have 8 grandchildren. I was a sargent in the reserve, my brother & father served. Our youngest is in New Mexico, desert training for the Ghan; he just completed survival training in Resolute Bay. I'm also a big fan of Sylvia Browne. AND--you & I have the same last name. We must be related.

I'm hoping to visit Texas one day; I have made a lot of good friends from there & from New Mexico. I envy your winters.

William,
You are right! It's good to have cherished music in the background. I forgot that I did that on the myspace I have.

I think what I'm going to do is go to it, and place the same music site onto this one, then listen as I write. What a great remembrance you've given me. Bless you!

William,
Thank you for accepting the friend invitation. I LOVE the music you have on here. I LOVE music anyway, and yours is so intriguing and so heartwarming...love it!
I hope we get to chat soon, as I am trying to keep going and I KNOW you are, too. We've got a lot of writing ahead, but if and when we have a moment or two, it's nice to know we're there for each other. Thank you again!

Howdy Neighbor!!!

I didn't realize we were so close. I live in Tenaha (little below Carthage) ...but hubby works in Longview.

Dillocon is in Austin each year...about the middle of August. I mean, where else should anyone be in the middle of summer:--)

Are you a member of the writer's group that meets in Longview?

If you ever need a professional literary review I hope you will keep me in mind. You may see samples of my work on the portfolio page of my website: www.mywritingmentor.com. You will like my fees for ning.com members who need a literary review...(read: free). The only catch is that if you use any part of the review you include my name and my company's name.
With warm regards,

MORGAN'S OWN BLOGSPOT

Come on Over

I'm over at a few other blogs today. If you get a chance, come on over to see the Christmas Decorations at http://acmeauthorslink.blogspot.com/

At http://bloodredpencil.blogspot.com/  the topic is Spoiled Milk. Ever sit down to read a good book and been disappointed?

If you haven't yet, check out the post below about the Paper War.

Thanks,
Morgan Mandel

Paper War

I've been waging a war on paper the last few days. So far, paper is winning. The more I clean up, the more of it I find. The problem is, for much of it, I feel an obligation to do a thorough examination and decide whether or not it's worth keeping.

The mailperson is my enemy. He, sometimes she, keeps leaving more paper in my mail box. I'm not talking about my Christmas cards, which I cherish, but all the other stuff dropped off for me to sort out. At times it's torture to come home and see the new pile the DH has set on the kitchen table.

I've discovered tons of magazines over a year old. They were trying to hide in a magazine holder on the side of the couch, but not doing a good job of it, since they were spilling over. Of course, I decided to check the headings on the covers to see if some of the information inside might prove valuable. Wouldn't you know it, I was right. Many articles seemed to good to give up.

I've already mentioned here before about how I also have a compulsion to print out emails that seem important to me. The result is I have lots of important pieces of paper. When there's an abundance, which is the most important? And, where's the one I really need? It is a quandary.

What about you? Is paper your enemy? Are you also waging a war against it? Who is winning?
