So much has happened in the past 24 hours. I have been contacted by authors, author organization reps, reporters, book marketers, bloggers and finally, someone from Amazon. Amazon has been bombarded by emails from authors, orgs, marketers etc, and last night I noticed that Amazon in Seattle had checked out my blog posts. ;-)
Today I received an email from a senior member of the Amazon Communities team. He apologized and stated that my reviews had been reinstated.
I began my reply with a thank…

Since breaking the news yesterday about my battle with Amazon over reviews (ones I wrote on books I'd read) that they deleted (85 reviews) because I included
author of Whale Song in my signature line, I've received emails and phone calls from concerned authors, many who tracked me down via the Internet after reading about me on Twitter, The Write Type or John Kremer's Marketing Tips email. Some authors have already discovered missing reviews; some have gone through the same hassle I did.…

For the last 8 years, the one school program that my husband has been "required" to attend with our growing children in the Dr Suess's Read Across America program. Not because I don't enjoy reading because I can always be found with a book in hand but because I HATE crowds. Especially insanity of little people running around screaming. Well, this past Friday was our school district's Read Across America (March 2nd is Dr Suess's Birthday) celebration and party for over 550 first through 3rd grade…

When I imagine Whale Song as a major motion picture, I smell hot buttered popcorn. Really. If I close my eyes and picture a scene from my novel being played out on a big screen, I can almost TASTE the popcorn.
I've even gone so far in my little fantasy to imagine the conversati…

10/10 happy faces
I bought the new iPhone 3G a couple of weeks ago (the first Apple product I have owned), and I have to tell you--I LOVE IT! It is sheer "bliss". The phone is sleek and easy to hold. More importantly, it is super easy to use. Everything is activated by touch or a quick flick of your finger. And it's FUN! I've never had a "fun phone" before this.
I would recommend this phone to anyone, especially to those who have problems using the regular phone-style keypad to text…
