I've got a sore throat, which means a cold or the dreaded flu, but I got bored with sleeping.
To break the monotony, I watched Barbara Walters interview:
Miley Cyrus - or Destiny Hope Cyrus, which was the first name her parents gave her. She's 15 years old and already owns an entire wing in her parents' home. What a life!
Very engaging young girl who seems to have her head on straight despite all of her notoriety.
I also watched Barbara Walters interview Ellen Page, a very pretty 21 year old, very sensible, but she just had to close the interview singing a song which I can't get out of my head - nice little ditty.
Vanessa Williams - who spoke about the controversy over her nude photos and admitted they weren't worth it in the long run. Very lovely woman who admitted she, like many other movie stars, uses Botox.
Harrison Ford - who says his new Indiana Jones movie, set for release in May, will not hide the passage of time. Harrison himself is now 65, but doesn't look it.
I love the glamor of the Academy Awards. I particularly enjoy watching what the stars wear and how their hair is done. Sometimes they look completely different in person than on the sample movie clips shown.
Many of the women are wearing strapless gowns - which always make me a bit nervous - how do they keep them up without spilling out of them?
Anyway, I haven't seen any of the movies, but will eventually do so on DVD.
I just watched Tilda Swinton win supporting actress. She looked totally surprised. It was refreshing to see that much spontaneity.
Anyway, I'm signing off now so I can enjoy the rest of the Awards - Also to Dream that some day my romantic comedy, GIRL OF MY DREAMS by Morgan Mandel can be made into a movie - Well, I did say it was a dream, didn't I?

Thank GOD! Someone actually wants to talk about writing and books and stuff like that! That's so cool!
Sorry to sound snarky, but I received two invites in the last thirty minutes from (1) a person who is a member of several get-rich-NOW sort of groups and (2) some sort of New Age guru type person who claims to be a Dean of Dynamic Something-or-Other. I get those sort of things all the time, and I'm rather sick of them (as you may have noticed from my earlier comments...)
I'm in a couple of initialed groups myself: SinC, PMA, SPAN, those sort of things. I'm working on the third in my series, and yes, I'm all too familiar with the backburner of my psyche. Thanks much for dropping by and leaving a scratching on my wall here.
I've seen your name on the MMA group before, too. Nice to see people in other places, sometimes. A few days ago I got to meet some people that I knew only from online, at the Harriette Austin Writers' Conference down at the Univ. of GA. It's great to put a face and a name together and form at least a semi-gestalt.
Have a great one!
Tony
I wanted to introduce myself. I see your name and comments on the MMA list (and other writer-newsy thingys) and well, here you are.
I'm in ASJA, MWA, SinC, and all those other initialed clubs. I am currently working on my first mystery. But lament the fact of having to backburner it often, if you know what I mean.
Anyway, I stopped by and wanted to meet.
Cheers,
Andrea
Invites of that sort will be scornfully declined.
Yes, sure, I want to make money at my business. But I don't come here to be bugged by people who are so money focused that they can't even see what I do.
You want to talk about books, publishing, writing or marketing books, GREAT! Send me a message and get to know me. Don't assume that I want to add you to my friends' list or be part of yours, just because you belong to some group that purports to help its members "achieve financial independence." There ain't no such critter. Sure, you may be able to get rich enough not to have to work, but if you're that rich, what the heck are you doing still working?
Either you're financially independent, and therefore don't NEED to work or NEED people in your network, or you're not financially independent, so how can you tell me how to become that way?
I'm a born cynic about money, bub. Don't even bother.
Best,
